Going to admit that whenever I read the Japanese title of this series I kinda skip over the kanji for detective so I only just noticed that the title for these little strips say “Cuticle Police Officer Inaba”.

Basic gist is:

Hiroshi isn’t game enough to try the new “Northern blue-fin tuna, cream and custard burger” that is on sale and asks Ogi to have some first. They both agree on it tasting absolutely awful and Hiroshi stuffs the leftovers into Ogata’s gift box. Ogi asks if he can use it as rubbish bin as well.

So the first five volumes that of Cuticle Detective that I bought for my birthday finally arrived. Probably going to spend ever moment of my free time reading through these babies now.

On the inside front cover of the first volume is a cute 4koma strip from when Hiroshi and Ogi were still working together in the force. In the top Hiroshi talks about how he can put up with the corruption and workload because he’s got a partner with him (something like that). The bottom panels are Hiroshi complaining about Ogi having a badge he can flip to show people he’s an officer whereas Hiroshi has to explain why he’s there every time there’s a case. Ogi’s solution is a signboard that says “I am a dog”.
